For whatever reason the President decided not to attack Mitt Romney in last weeks first Presidential debate. Will the Vice President show some fight tonight? Tonight kicks off the Presidential debate season. The election is a mere month away and tonight we will get the first glimpse of what each candidate is able to articulate on stage after a long prep time. With three Presidential debates and one Vice-Presidential debate this month, this will be a decent gauge of how well the Republican candidates will fair against two veteran politicians.
Tonight's debate will focus on domestic policy. This is an area Romney has tried to take the lead over Obama because of the slow growth since the President took power 4 years ago. The big question is whether or not Romney can successfully paint the idea that the economic situation is the fault of Obama and that the President made the bad situation worse. Another area of contention will be healthcare. The President will need to successfully defend himself against what will be constant attacks from Romney while also showing that the foundation for the bill came from Romney's term as Governor of Massachusetts. Of course there will also be other issues that will come up throughout the debate, but the above two seem to be the areas of most contention and focus so far.
