The Euro 2012 soccer tournament is one of the biggest events in the world of soccer. It will begin on June 8th when Poland plays Greece. However, the players taking the field may be in danger from absorbing toxins from their own uniforms. The BEUC which is the consumer watchdog group for the European Union has found dangerous levels of lead, nonylphenol, organotin and others in at least nine of the participating countries jerseys. What does this say about the consumer protection laws in Europe if according to the agencies press release "[h]ost country Poland's shirt should be banned outright from shops[.]"
