The Irish and the Tide will meet on January 7th in Miami to play for the BCS National Championship. Notre Dame went 12-0 which qualified them to participate in the game while Alabama beat Georgia over the weekend to become the SEC Champion and was voted above everyone else as ND's opponent. These two teams have history dating back to 1973 when Alabama's great coach Bear Bryant lost to the Irish for the first of four times in his coaching career. This should shape up to be a great game with both schools having great defenses and offenses capable of scoring in a variety of ways.
