Nothing changed from November to December in terms of employment with 155,000 jobs being added to the economy and the unemployment rate remaining steady at 7.8%. Good news is at least we are adding jobs, bad news is people will argue not enough jobs. But based on all of the retail business done over the holiday season and the sheer amount of people out shopping I think it is safe to say people are willing to spend money because they have it, and most people get money from having a job. It is however alarming to think that maybe a large portion of the people out spending money this past holiday season were on unemployment and therefore the government is feeding the economy by paying out unemployment and those people are spending it to fuel the economy. Just a thought.
